The Argor-Heraeus 500 g cast gold bar contains 500 grams of 999.9 fine gold in one half-kilogram unit. It sits directly between the 250 g and 1 kg formats, combining a low product count with limited divisibility.
Who is the 500 g cast bar for?
Half a kilogram can be held as one 500 g bar or as two 250 g bars. The nominal gold weight is the same. The structure is not. Two 250 g bars allow one quarter kilogram to be handled separately. A single 500 g bar keeps the full half kilogram together.
The next comparison is one kilogram. Two 500 g bars equal 1 kg but remain two independent halves. One 1000 g bar concentrates the same total weight into one product.
This makes 500 g a practical middle point between large-scale concentration and some remaining divisibility.

The price starts with the market value of 500 grams of gold. A premium is added for refining, casting, inspection, logistics and handling.
Relative premiums are usually lower than on much smaller bars.
